Carol Sánchez. Carol Sánchez traveled to Cuba with FHA in 2009 and joined the board in 2010. First-Hand Aid’s purpose of helping children and families in need by organizing volunteer travelers to carry the aid to Cuba -- first-hand -- resonates with Carol’s goal of helping people better understand the world and global events. Carol teaches international business at Grand Valley State University. Before that she lived 13 years in five South American countries managing programs for a major US aid organization. She speaks fluent Spanish, and she’s learning to speak Cuban.
